ANGEL AND DARRIEN INTRO CHAPTER

“No, I can work with that. Just send me her file to my phone when you get it.” Darrien said, pressing the button for the floor just before Mr. Conner’s office. “Will do...mind if I ask what you plan to do though as her S.O.? Like how do you plan to teach and deal with a teenager?” Jessica asked simply. “I’m going to treat her as my equal simply.” Darrien replied. “How, though?” “She's probably going through puberty at this age, so I can exploit the hormonal imbalance to get her to like me just enough to be comfortable but not crush on me.” “What? So you're just going to woo her?” Jessica asked, appalled, having been in that situation with him before. “What? Oh no, She'd be too distracted and compromise future missions. I'd never let her get that close.” Darrien replied, looking back at her as the door opened on his floor. “You're not being serious, are you?” Jessica said accusingly. “Some of it is, what part is up for you to decide.” Darrien said before getting off the elevator and letting the door slide shut behind him. Jessica let out a growl once the door closed. “That stupid, hot bastard,” Jessica said angrily before sighing. “Mr. Conner is right, she’s going to be the best thing to come into his life...about damn time.” Jessica said mildly before the elevator got to her floor, and she headed into the office to start her day.

AN OLD CRUSH WHO IS NOW AN ID10T

Jericho froze for a second a hint of a blush showing at her tone, then he chuckled nervously. “I...might have gotten in with the wrong crowd after I left.” He replied, hoping she wouldn’t be too mad. “So I’ve heard; mind telling me more?” Angel asked, leaning forward to keep their eyes locked. Her dark blue shirt wasn’t low cut, but how she leaned over the view Jericho got would have gotten him in trouble with the authorities if it was a few years earlier. He glanced down for a split-second but otherwise kept his eyes locked with hers knowing that if he looked longer, she'd probably punch him in the face. “I’ll answer that when you tell me how you’ve been.” Jericho replied, keeping his voice level as they stared at one another.

PAST FINDINGS

“Possibly due to grief, but he didnt notify the others either since it took so long to find me.” Angel pointed out. “Correct, you were lost just the same, but thankfully found, and I have to admit you are just like your mother through and through.” Richard said with a laugh, actually smiling a little. Angel smiled, too but pressed on. “So how’d she go missing, though?” Angel asked again. “That I think you should Save for James, assuming you're seeing him last?” He asked, knowing how Darrien would do things. “Yep, Dr. Lane is next.” Angel replied before thinking of another question. “So, does this make you like my uncle or something?” she asked with a grin. “I suppose…” He replied with a slight grimace. “Please don’t call me that in mixed company.” He requested.

THE INTERROGATION

“So the moment I walk in and he sees my face, he could see everything of my past?” Angel asked, obviously uneasy. Darrien understood that. He didn’t like that she couldn’t just observe through the window, but due to previous times when he wasn’t present they figured they needed someone to talk with the man when he was out on a solo mission, but why her was beyond him, sure she was his subordinate but she was only 15. “Darrien?” Angel called out getting him out of thinking again. He sighed and then popped his back to get himself alert again. “Yeah he will, well except for any repressed memories, he can’t seem to get past that wall without putting in a lot of effort, and he usually can only do that, if you’re in the room with him alone long enough, but I know ways of keeping him out longer, which I will teach you before you ever have to deal with him on your own.” Darrien replied assuringly.

THE INTERROGATION 2: ALONE

"Don't hold it back; let it all out. You no longer need to repress your feelings." He tries his best to reassure her when suddenly the door slams open, and Darrien storms through. "Session's over; daddy's here," Sean mutters as he gets up. "If you can be patient, I still need time to patch things-" Darrien clocked him in the face with the side of his fist against his ear to knock him down and disorient him. As the room spun around in Sean's head, he couldn't help but chuckles from the dizzy feeling, though his response sounded angrier. "You're overreacting, you brute!" Darrien didn't hesitate after gently picking Angel up to her feet. "Can you stand?" He asks.

ALICE'S MEMOIRS

“Yes, when this is all over….'' Hatter said, growing quiet. ‘When Alice leaves again.’ a small voice sounded in Hatter’s mind in a mocking sneer. Hatter almost replied to that voice, but then Cheshire spoke up, knowing the turmoil that was his friend's mind. “Alice too, since with both of the gates being closed, she’ll have to stay here.” Cheshire pointed out that even though they would probably find a way to fix that, it was to keep Hatter out of his head for now. Hatter blinked at that and looked over, coming out of his mind. “Yeah, she'll definitely need a place to stay, I’m sure mother will try to get her to stay at the castle, but I can work around that,” Hatter replied, a lot more upbeat again.
